The ECIA is pleased to announce that our NAECI Manager Awareness Course is now funded by the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB). Together with the already funded Supervisor Development Course, this programme will enhance training opportunities for Managers working under the National Agreement for the Engineering Construction Industry (NAECI), offering them the tools they need to succeed in their roles.
This support is part of the ECITB’s broader commitment to grow competency amongst the first-line management across all engineering construction sectors.
Designed as a two-part course, the programme equips both new and experienced Managers with practical skills to manage a workforce effectively. It emphasises the importance of delivering work “right the first time”. Participants are also introduced to the use of soft skills in managing complex workplace situations.
The course content includes multiple first-line management modules and features interactive NAECI scenarios to provide real-world context. This course can be bespoke to cover company specific issues that have occurred when working under NAECI. Topics cover a range from self-management and effective communication to team leadership, ensuring participants leave with a well-rounded understanding of workplace supervision.
ECIA member companies interested in enrolling their managers can find full course details and booking information in the ECIA Member Zone.
This initiative not only promotes effective management within the engineering construction industry but also underscores the importance of accessible training for fostering a skilled and effective workforce.
ECIA members that are also on the ECITB register can now claim the full course cost back through the ECITB grant management system, subject to budget availability.
