On the 25th of April 2024, ECIA Managing Director John Simpson visited the PetroIneos refinery and the Ineos FPS and Chemicals sites in Grangemouth which have been NAECI Category 2 projects covering Repair and Maintenance activities since the early 1990s. This extensive complex produces a wide range of petrochemicals, fuel and oil products with applications from health and pharmaceuticals to food and beverage packaging, to construction and utilities.
This site visit aligns with the association’s strategy to deepen customer intimacy in 2024. As a member-led association representing the UK engineering construction employers, it is paramount to create an inclusive environment whilst giving members a voice.
Whilst at the refinery John has engaged in conversation with the two of the main contractors Altrad Babcock and Bilfinger IS UK Ltd as well as the refinery representatives. The topics discussed included productivity and incentivisation as well as feedback on NAECI and services the ECIA currently offers. John Simpson explains: “I believe these talks will help to shape the future of the ECIA and will strengthen the relationship between our members and the sites they operate on”.
