Shaping the Future

Next steps in meeting the productivity and skills challenges for the UK engineering construction industry.

The ECIA Conference “Shaping the Future” was postponed as the Gibson Report on Skills and Productivity in Engineering Construction had not yet been published. Instead, the ECIA Contractor forum took place on 26th November 2009, at One George Street, Westminster.

The main purpose of the forum was to discuss the emerging recommendations from the 'Changing to Compete' Report, which was subsequently published in December 2009 - to view a copy click here. The Forum was an opportunity for ECIA members to discuss the Association’s strategic position and help shape its response to the Report and its recommendations for helping determine the future direction of our industry, the competitiveness of the UK workforce and the positioning of the NAECI as the Agreement of choice for the future.
